Updated Menu Signs for Dixie Picnic Cafe
One of the recent projects I worked on as a graphic designer at Signarama was to refresh the menu signs at a nearby café called Dixie Picnic. They requested that I refresh the design so that the information felt more streamlined and easier to read. Additionally, they felt that this was a good opportunity to add more food items to the signs that weren't previously included on the original versions.

All 3 Original Menu Signs

One of the primary issues with the original design was that most of the signs had seemingly random text alignment, and this made them look messy and disorganized. Readability is of utmost importance when it comes to designs such as these, so that was the main aspect I made sure to fix when redoing them.
Additionally, the typefaces used felt outdated and made the information feel cramped, so I made sure to switch to one that was still sans-serif, but left more breathing room for the information. I also made sure that the outlines of design elements such as the banners and the white boxes were more consistent than the previous design.

Beachfront Property Sign
One of my projects in late 2024 was to design a sign for a customer's beach house. He gave me notes on the general shape he desired, the fact that he wanted a cursive font for the text, and the requirement that I used the Sherwin-Williams Sleepy Blue (SW 6225) for the color.
Field Banners for Local Sports Teams
In the spring season, I am frequently asked to create new banners for local sports team, including those that play for high schools in the area. While usually I just have to update already existing banners with new pictures and names of the current players, I sometimes get to design banners from scratch, usually after I am given a list of names to include and a layout that the customer wants.
Happy Birthday Sign
One of the most fun projects I had was to design a Happy 60th Birthday sign. I thought this was a great opportunity to flex my typography skills and use type that was both whimsical and dynamic.
